Secure Code Warrior shortlisted for two ARN Women in ICT Awards

June 16, 2021
Co-Founder and SVP Fatemah Beydoun recognised as a Shining Star; Secure Code Warrior a D&I Champion finalist

SYDNEY – 16 June 2021: Secure Code Warrior®, the global secure coding company, has been shortlisted for two categories in ARN’s Women in ICT Awards for 2021 following a record-breaking number of submissions that celebrate female excellence within the Australian technology channel.

Fatemah Beydoun, Senior Vice President for Customer Success and Operations and Co-Founder, has been acknowledged as a ‘Shining Star’ for her outstanding business acumen, deep market expertise and high levels of professional integrity.

Secure Code Warrior has been shortlisted as ‘D&I Champion’ in recognition of the Australian scale-up being a standout company in driving diversity and inclusion across all aspects of the business, spanning employees, customers and stakeholders.

Pieter Danhieux, CEO and Co-Founder of Secure Code Warrior, said, “We are so proud of Fatemah. She has been an integral part of the business since its inception in 2014 and has worn 50 hats just to get the job done, as we’ve scaled from a team of six to now having over 200 employees worldwide.”

“Fatemah’s been instrumental in evolving our business and driving customer success as we’ve supported banks, telcos, governments and tech juggernauts worldwide to empower their developers to deliver secure coding that is intrinsic to their daily process. Plus, she’s spearheaded business DEI initiatives like our infants-at-work policy and continued to be our ‘fair police’ to ensure we dig deep during recruitment processes to truly remove bias and compensate team members with the same roles and responsibilities fairly.”

On the company recognition, Danhieux said, “Our founding team come from different backgrounds and cultures, so embedding diversity of practice and thought into the business has naturally flown into the company—almost every religion, culture and dietary requirement you can think of are represented. Our global team’s diverse backgrounds, cultures, stories and life experiences shape how we work, build our product, grow our teams and ultimately embed intrinsic security across the globe.”

Cherry Yumul, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at IDG, said, “ARN congratulates Fatemah Beydoun on becoming a finalist in the Shining Star category and Secure Coe Warrior for D&I Champion, Company. We applaud the standout contribution in helping to set an industry benchmark for female achievement across Australia.”

“This year WIICTA has generated a volume and calibre of nominees never been seen nor conceivable before. This is an encouraging sign of a positive trend that gender diversity is high on the corporate agenda of more and more businesses in Australia. Not to tick a box or meet a quota but evidently to bring in alternative viewpoints for problem-solving and different leadership styles for competitive advantage, in turn delivering better returns,” Yumul said.

Danhieux concluded, “Secure Code Warrior is dedicated to building a company that champions the efforts and contributions of every individual modern warrior. We are thrilled to have both Fatemah and our team’s efforts acknowledged by the leading awards program for gender diversity and inclusion in the Australian channel.”

An executive panel of more than 150 industry judges will select the winners of ARN’s 10th Women in ICT Awards—acknowledging creativity, innovation and excellence, which will be announced Friday 23 July. To find out more, visit arnnet.com.au/wiicta.

This category has taken on new urgency in 2026 for a reason that’s specific to this moment: AI coding tools and agents are dramatically increasing how much code gets written and how often it needs to be deployed, tested, and provisioned for. Platform engineering is the layer that determines whether that increased velocity translates into shipped value or into chaos.
