Raising the bar for secure coding: Infusing agile learning into future-ready enterprises

On July 13, we announced the closing of our Series-C funding round, having raised USD $50 million towards the next phase of our mission: helping more pioneering organizations harness the power of their development cohort in thwarting common vulnerabilities.
Our market-leading suite of agile learning tools is built with an unwavering focus on not just elevating the secure coding skills of developers, but also meeting them halfway in terms of how they work, learn, and engage with upskilling opportunities. This funding will ensure the work of our incredible team can continue, with exciting new milestones to achieve on our product roadmap.
With government regulations signaling the need for a seismic shift in security culture for most organizations, what does the future look like for enterprises that start their developer upskilling pathways sooner rather than later?
Staying threat-flexible with agile learning
One of the most famous quotes from the legendary Chinese philosopher, Confucius, is “The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.” In this modern age of technology moving at a breakneck pace - and insidious cyber threats barely a step behind - organizations cannot afford to waste time with static education solutions. It is not unheard of for cybersecurity textbooks to be outdated before they’ve been printed, and rigid classroom-based courses are simply not designed to pivot in order to showcase the best techniques and approaches to security issues as they come to light.
Secure Code Warrior remains a market leader in developer security education, utilizing an agile approach to developer enablement to upskill them into the gold-standard engineers of tomorrow. Our learning platform and developer-first tooling allow us to be far more dynamic, staying in step with current threats and the most efficient fixes for these problems as they arise. If the roots of your education solution are grounding you in one spot, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to “bend in the wind” when upskilling developers, leading to frustration for both the educator and the student, and far less success in vulnerability remediation.
According to Gartner, by 2025, 70% of large enterprises will adopt agile learning approaches. There is immense power in this shift to microlearning, continuous improvement, and building key knowledge that can be leveraged for the most pertinent business goals and security outcomes. However, it requires challenging the status quo. Companies must make a commitment to aligning educational needs as part of daily work tasks, rather than an extra, monolithic addition that seems to elevate stress levels more than skills.
Expanding our capabilities and leadership to deliver best-in-class agile learning
As part of our quest to deliver best-in-class agile learning tools for future-forward enterprise customers, we are proud to announce our recently expanded leadership team. We have named Imperva’s Chief Customer Officer, Nanhi Singh to our board of directors, in addition to appointing Patrick Collins as our new Chief Product and Technology Officer.
Smart enterprises are keenly aware that there is no “one size fits all” approach to cybersecurity-focused, hands-on learning, and seek the ability to offer their development teams multiple learning paths. We enable this to happen every day through our agile learning platform and a constant stream of enhancements and experiences, including our real-time feedback option with Coding Labs, to create the most engaging, expansive learning environments possible. Our Just-in-Time method ensures no time is wasted on irrelevant modules or courses, delivering the right information at the time it is needed most.
This reality wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering commitment of our team members and the continued trust and confidence of our investors. The agile learning opportunities are endless, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Nanhi and Patrick, who will, undoubtedly, provide invaluable contributions in the months ahead.
