The Devlympics 2021 are open to developers everywhere regardless of secure coding skills and experience.

We have two levels of competition - one for seasoned developers who are confident in their secure coding skills (Ultimate Warrior), and one for those new to secure coding and students (Champions). Both levels are available in various language:frameworks. Simply choose your level when registering and you’ll have access to all tournaments at that level for the duration of the competition.

Program & Speakers

Alongside the tournament, make it your mission to level up your secure coding knowledge with insights, tips and tricks from our guest speakers, streamers and supporters. Content will be streamed through Twitch during the 12-hour tournament, and available on-demand so you don’t need to miss a session depending on where you are in the world.

Securing software while getting your normal work done
When you develop software, you already have a lot to do: interview customers, make designs, build prototypes, test your code - also security too. This is already enough to open a key question for leaders: how can we get the same or better benefit, faster, without continually adding new resources and skillsets to the team? To paraphrase Sun Tzu, “if I know myself and I know my process & tools, I need not fear the result of a thousand security scans.”
Erik Costlow
Director of Developer Relations
Code – the final frontier
From the lights on your porch, to your car, all modern communications platforms, to the rover on Mars our world is shifting more and more away from the hardware to rely on code running in the global virtual space called cloud. Todays everyday life, health care, financials, and even ground-breaking discoveries are dependent on the quality, reliability and security of the code developers write. Which means the fate of the world is more and more in the hands of the developers. Learning and training secure coding practices is not only the path to ensure personal advancement but may even save lives.
Klaus-Erdmann Klinger
Information Security Officer
Shifting security left, right, up, down... everywhere!
Hear about how Atlassain’s Trust Culture and Training team is building secure code training and scaling a security champions program with insights from company culture, research about developer motivations and gaining leadership buy-in. We’ll dive into secure behaviours, rewards and recognition that engage the developer community and adjust as vulnerabilities evolve over time.
Alice White
Security Training Manager
Leveraging on-demand interactive training to maximize return on your appsec training investment
If traditional security training was going to work, it should have by now. We send developers to training when they're not busy crafting code, fail to provide regular reinforcement, and wonder why it's quickly forgotten. Security training must be available on demand, support daily work, and integrate with developers' tools.
John-Paul Sikking
Head of Application Security
Open source vulnerabilities and the mean time to update metric
The average application contains 128 open source dependencies, and developers must constantly decide when (and when not to) update third-party dependencies inside of their applications. Review of 100,000 applications and more than 4,000,000 component migrations (upgrades) and found that the majority were suboptimal. In this review, we'll discuss a metric that can help developers make the right update decisions in real-time development
